Johannesburg: Jameel Motors, a globally renowned provider of mobility solutions, has announced its entry into the South African automotive market through a partnership with Changan Automobile. This landmark agreement enables Jameel Motors to distribute Changan's diverse range of vehicles, including SUVs, sedans, pickups, and new energy vehicles (NEVs), in South Africa. The move reflects Jameel Motors’ strategic commitment to expand into Africa’s largest automotive market, where new vehicle sales exceeded 500,000 units in 2024.
South Africa presents vast growth potential, characterized by increasing demand for affordable vehicles equipped with cutting-edge technology. In January 2025 alone, passenger car sales experienced an 18.3% year-on-year surge. Jameel Motors aims to contribute significantly to the local economy by generating employment opportunities and fostering dealership development.
Initially, the company will focus on distributing products from Changan and Deepal. While Changan specializes in combustion engine vehicles such as sedans and pickups, Deepal is known for NEVs. Both brands are tailored to South Africa’s diverse terrain and driving conditions. Vehicle availability is planned for the fourth quarter of 2025.

Known for his expertise in marketing, customer service, and business strategy, Venter is poised to leverage Jameel Motors’ legacy and Changan’s focus on quality and technology to meet the needs of South African consumers.
